This was the last occasion when the Queen Mother sat for a portrait in March 2002. Her Majesty the Queen Mother sat for Vivien at Clarence House over a series of visits. Her Majesty made it clear that she wanted to be shown wearing a hat, which is shown in this portraiture. It was originally commissioned by St Mary’s Hospital Trust and is installed in the foyer of the Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother wing.
We are pleased to confirm that in 2022, further copies have been sanctioned and a limited edition of 9 and 2 artist copies to Wick Antiques Ltd in Lymington.
